At Nyland Campus we aim to build an ethos of emotional quotient before intellectual quotient in order to promote relevant and sustained development of the ‘whole child’, which facilitates the outcome of nurturing valued and productive members of communities and society. Our curriculum has been specially designed to the specific needs of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) primary aged pupils by starting with the premise that a foundation of emotional quotient and learning skills are needed before relevant academic learning can take place.
Our curriculum is built upon the foundations of Emotional quotient and then incorporates our school values, learning skills and British values.
Each class plans its own topic based on the emotional quotient and the needs of the children and each topic lasts for 2-3 weeks.
Details of the topics will be updated on the class page.
