SEMH Support Team (formerly NCOT)
The Nyland Campus SEMH Support Team Background
The Nyland Campus Outreach Team (NCOT) is now called the SEMH Support Team. We are very much part of Nyland Campus, which also includes Nyland School, the PRU, and the Therapy Centre.
Our remit is to facilitate schools to manage and support pupils with SEMH needs within their environment.
The team are very experienced in working with pupils with a variety of SEMH needs, and underlying issues which affect behaviour, as well as having extensive experience of working in mainstream schools and Early Years settings, special schools, SRPs, and supporting agencies, and working environments outside education.
Schools now complete only one piece of paper to request our support, and we aim to contact referring schools within 2 weeks.
Notice for School Staff
The SEMH Support Team will be holding “surgery” sessions where school staff can drop in to discuss any issues they are having around behaviour in school or SEMH needs.
We will not be able to discuss any pupils by name, but can give general advice.
This is something which schools have asked for, so I hope staff will find them useful.
The sessions will be held at:
Westrop School on Wednesday 11th October from 3.30-5pm, and
Mountford Manor School on Thursday 12th October from 7.30-9am
Please drop in to see us if you would like to talk through any concerns.
