Nyland School is delighted to announce that Paul Holroyd has officially been named our new principal. Paul has recently held successful roles at Forest High School, Cinderford, and Gloucester Academy.
Replacing previous principal Tamsyn van der Meulen, Mr Holroyd will use his passion and experience to bring added stability to our school.
In addition to Forest High School and Gloucester Academy, Mr Holroyd has extensive experience in leadership positions at Gloucestershire Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) and at Gloucester, Forest, and Stroud PRU. He has also served as an Ofsted inspector, and held a leadership role in a primary SEMH school.
Upon being appointed principal, Mr Holroyd said: “I am thrilled to be taking over at Nyland. The school is already in a good place and I look forward to continuing the excellent work that has already taken place under my predecessor and the leadership team at Nyland, so that the school can offer its pupils a first-class education.”
Paul Holroyd’s more than 30 years of knowledge and expertise in education will strengthen our leadership team as we build upon the recent progress made at our wonderful school.
Having previously held a headship within The White Horse Federation, Paul is in a strong position to work with the trust to drive continued progress at our school.
Nyland School joined The White Horse Federation multi-academy trust in 2012. The trust is responsible for 32 schools across Swindon, Wiltshire, Gloucester, Oxfordshire, and Berkshire.
The White Horse Federation’s regional director for Swindon, Julian Morgan, said: “With over 30 years in education and experience in a variety of leadership roles including at a primary SEMH school, Paul is extremely well equipped to continue the excellent work carried out by Tamsyn and her staff in recent years. I am very excited to continue working together with Paul to provide pupils at Nyland School the best possible education.”
